In Memory of Raymond T. McNally

In the mid 1970s guitarist Fred Pineau and I had the honor of interviewing In Search Of Dracula co-author Raymond T. McNally. Fred lived on Toxteth Street in Brookline (love the name of that street) and Ray lived around the corner. Fred is a brilliant (and underrated) guitarist who also co-interviewed Jonathan Richman with me for Varulven Magazine.

Ray was very kind and generous to me over the years, inviting me to Boston College to wear my Dracula cape! - I think it was Halloween one year...and in 2002 he appeared on Visual Radio to discuss his new book In Search of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

The Renaissance Books edition has an inscription from Ray to me:

TO JOE,

a good faithful friend and an enthusiast, from the author, Raymond T. McNally

Portions of the interview to upload to YouTube along with portions of the text from the Varulven Magazine interview to post here. Update 1:47 PM Tuesday February 8, 2011
